Product Description

Review

"Beautifully produced with exciting artwork, this book is a pleasure to behold... it's a truly brilliant book to give to a child that thinks he or she doesn't like poetry." The Irish Post" --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

About the Author

John Hegley was very glad to be given a pair of glasses at the age of twelve - he'd wanted some since he was five. Many years later he worked with two children's theatre companies: Soapbox and Professor Dogg's Troupe, before becoming the popular and highly original stand-up comedian, poet, singer, songwriter and glasses-wearer that he is today. John Hegley has bendy hands and his dog ran away in 1985. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Bright, bold and funky, "My Dog is a Carrot" says it all. John Hegley invites you into the weird, wacky and wonderful world of poetry. The distinct illustrations add life to the poems such that they posess a unique identity of their own. John Hegley compares logs and dogs, uncles and aunts. Here it is...a nutritious collection of poetry for your heart to digest...

I've been a long time fan of John Hegley and my 8 year old son has been into poetry for a while, loves Spike Milligan and Benjamin Zephaniah. Hadn't put these two facts together and thought to buy him a John Hegley book before now. This is a nice accessible slim volume of his poems with child suitable themes. You're never too young for a bit of quality poetry and this book had my son laughing like a drain and having to be told several times to turn his light off long after his bedtime. Great stuff!

Quick, easy delivery to specified address. Great book of kids poems that even adults will love. It was a late 21st birthday present for my sister in-law who is studying creative writing - she loves it as much as me!

I got this for my birthday and at first i was a little unsure about it after reading the title, but it is a very fun little book of poems! Funny, random anything really.... well, any type of poem apart from serious ones!

A fantastic little book of poems for all ages, worth a look!
