5.0 out of 5 starsGreat message!15 Dec 2008

I was so excited to find this book! It wonderfully weaves together the stocking tradition of Saint Nicholas with the true meaning of Christmas. The author explains gift-giving as a way of sharing God's love, just as the best and first gift--Jesus!--was His ultimate expression of love for us. It's a well-written book, with naturally-flowing rhymes and a simple but beautiful message.

This is a great story to teach little ones about St. Nicholas & why we give gifts on Christmas. My toddler & preschooler love the illustrations & rhyming text. I love the message they are getting about giving gifts to show god's love for one another.

This book is WONDERFUL!! It's short, but to the point and about who St. Nicholas really was. It spurred on conversation with my son to find out more details about St. Nicholas vs Santa Claus
