Product Description

Synopsis

A booklet to help young siblings of autistic children understand what autism is.

From the Author

Why this book was written
This book was written to help my daughters, Jemma and Jade, understand why their brother, Jack, did the things he did and help them accept that even though he did embarrasing things when we were out he couldn't actually help it! Why does he knock my games off the table?, he's so destructive. Why does he squeal when we go out? Why doesn't he get told off when he's naughty like I do? I hope that this book will help other families like ours!

Great Explanation 19 Sep 2007
By S. D. Williams TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is wonderful. The text is clear and simple and the pictures are delightful. My friends little girl was talking to her mum about my child and couldn't understand why she got told off but he didn't. I simply handed this book to my friend and once her daughter read it she said "I understand now". This book could apply to a child with speech and communication difficulties not just autistic children. It really is a great book to own and extremely useful when trying to explain what life is like for a child with S & L difficulties.

Simply great! 21 May 2008
Format:Paperback
I read this book and by the end i had tears in my eyes. My son has ASD and I brought it so his sisters could read it and learn to understand him a little more. The text is simple but full of emotion and the drawings of the boy are lovely.I would recommend this to anyone.
