"I bring you tidings of... DAMMIT!"

With those few words, Jack Lynch's world would change forever. The nerdy guy from Hammond High has returned for his twentieth reunion. He's rich, successful, and ready to re-claim the girl who got away: Rori McLeary.

There's just one small problem... Jack is also dead. But with the help of an angel in training, his mom, and the rockin' body of his former arch-nemesis, Jack is still going to get the girl.

He has three days to convince Rori to love him. He's got the body he never had, the brains he always had, and Norman the geek angel on his side.

What could possibly go wrong?

*NOTE: This is a short, sweet romance of 15,826 words.

For a freebie read this wasn't bad and I think the premise was entertaining enough- I did however find myself muddling up the characters and what was going on on occaision. I don't think it helps having the two male protagonists called Jack Lynch and John Lyndon and then having them swap bodies, to be honest!

In this short story of redemption, soul-searching and forgiveness, the plot finds trainee angel Norman ("I am Normeil!") making a whopper of a mistake at Jack's twentieth high school reunion- after a car crash, he accidentally puts Jack's soul back in the body of his arch nemesis, John. Everyone hates John, including Rori- the woman Jack has had a crush on forever. Can he now get her to see the man he really is beneath the surface- or has he lost her forever?

Despite the niggles I had with too many characters and too much going on, this is still a sweet, festive story, good to read at this time of year. I also have a soft spot for nerds, of which Norman and Jack both were. It had its moments of humour that really lifted it too, though I couldn't help thinking of Jack Bauer from 24 every time Norman said "Dammit!" I do think the plot would have flowed better if the author had re-worked some parts of it to make it a bit more easily explainable though- either that or made it longer to give it a bit more depth and the reader the opportunity to get to know the characters a bit better.

Still, recommended for a short, festive read (I whizzed through this on a quick train journey) and of course, you can never go wrong with a freebie!

Good for a freebie 3 Feb 2012

Was not sure when i started reading this & did find in the begining i got slightly confused with Jack & John, but on the whole it was a good read and i am glad i stuck with it. Loved all the characters too. Was a really good idea for a story swapping souls and putting them in the wrong bodies but because of the names it did get a bit confusing. Stick with it, worth a read.

Short book, strange story. I didn't have the problem some people had with getting Jack and John confused. The book was okay, but not sure if I would recommend it. Read more

Good read
This is a story that goes off in a quirky direction. I found it entertaining with enough going on to keep me hooked.
