Product Description

Synopsis

If the average tenure in a job varies from two to five years, then most people will have between 9 and 21 jobs during their career, between the ages of 21 and 65. Therefore, the chances of meeting a few bastards along the way, who can make your life hell, are fairly high. This is a straight forward, but at times funny how-to book, written in a breezy style designed to engage the many people in distress. It's about how to survive in a hostile environment and move towards a more fulfilling work life, when your boss takes a dislike to you or treats you badly and threatens your job. Learn about the nature of bosses in business. Learn about your own ego, the helpful use of language, and some practical techniques to help you remain calm. Use the unique Serengeti Model to decode which species of animal your Boss is. Then find out how you can deal with him/her in the best way, to help keep you safe from harm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spot on!, 16 May 2007

In this genre there is so much naval gazing and pontificating by people who really haven't got a clue what they are talking about.
I thougt in this case Richard Maun got both the tone and the delivery method spot on!
I loved the slightly irreverant tone and the light hearted approach made the reading a joy and not a chore.
I recommend this book as one you will greatly enjoy and hey, I even learned something as well!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Owning, 28 Feb 2007
By S. Tracey - See all my reviews

We all have them and most of us think we can do better than them. This book has some interesting observations on the different type of boss out there and how to deal with them.
The most useful part though is the personal survival kit. We are increasingly likely, through choice or redundancy, to leave an employer at short notice. The personal survival kit is a dynamic way for you to have all your options available if it should happen to you. Worth a owning just for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Serengeti , office politics and beyond, 30 Jan 2007
By Sarah Daniels "RedCat" (Norwich) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A thoroughly intutitive book- great for those people out there with difficult bosses- i only wish i had had a copy of the book and its frank and eye opening Personal Survival Kit when i was employed. It has made me think about what sort of a boss i am and how better to deal with people and get the best out of them. The book is very well written easy to read, but immensely thought provoking
