amazing debut from Oxford's best post rock act!!!,
This review is from: My Band's Better Than Yours (Audio CD)
The rock of who????? Basically an unknown quantity before I heard this! This sounds like something in the region of Mogwai yet with more power and punch! The Rock of Travolta are a 7 piece band with two bassists! Whose debut mini album blew me away! Tracks such as "Giant Robo" are well crafted and show that this lot are a great hope for the future!

putting the rock back in postrock,
This review is from: My Band's Better Than Yours (Audio CD)
now this is proper de la instrumental. not only *rock* but clever rock - this isn't a normal rock song without the words - the tunes are going places and doing things. the ep is also admirable for its fine sense of humour (the garnish, i am your father). not the best recording quality, but the sheer ROCKness and the cleverness of the songs (especially [...] and i love it when a plan comes together) more than make up for it. buy this right now.

Inspiring,

This altough the first outing from this odd ensemble of guitars and all other stringed instruments is, hopefully, the first of many amazinly worked out and executed albums. The sound throughout this album show various influences. Mogwai, radiohead and ?Megadeth? are all in this melting pot of music.
