5.0 out of 5 stars Proper Mexican Food 22 Sep 2012
By jb
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Such a refreshing change. This book is illustrated and written by the same person! The recipes are handed down from her grandmother and its proper food not the stuff you buy in the supermarket! Love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly Beautiful Cookbook 28 Sep 2012
By Thomas S. Pearce - Published on Amazon.com

My Abuela's Table is perhaps the best of dozens of cookbooks I have seen this year. Far from comprehensive, it nonetheless presents a deeply personal view of Mexican, especially Veracruz cooking, with excellent recipes for many home-style dishes. Best of all, it presents this information with gorgeous illustrations that cause me to thumb through the book again and again without even looking at the text. I love this book.
4.0 out of 5 stars Veronica's Present 2 April 2013

Lovely book. I gave it to my Mexican almost daughter-in-law who had a close relationship with her late grandmother. The illustrations were beautiful. I do some watercolor painting so I particularly appreciated them, as did she. The recipes were pretty basic and she promised to cook a dinner using one of the recipes from the book when we visit them next month. All in all it turned out to be the perfect gift I hoped it would be.
5.0 out of 5 stars Most Gorgeous Cook Book Ever 22 Mar 2013
By M. VERTELLE - Published on Amazon.com

Cooking & art seem so inherently intwined and this book captures that so beautifully. Although simplistic are the recipes, (great for those new to Mexican) the illustrations and colour INSPIRE you to cook. I wish more cook books were this delightful!
