This is the debut album from Catchers, a young group from Portstuart in Northern Ireland. One of the most stunning debuts of the 1990s, it's full of haunting, spectral songs of love, innocence and wonder. Lyricist and lead vocalist Dale Grundle spins a web of words with a talent and wisdom beyond his tender years, and the rest of the band colour the songs with yearning melodies. At times dark and twisting, at other times playful and happy, this album draws the listener back time after time. Beautiful stuff...buy this album, you will not regret it.

Close your eyes and think of your happiest thoughts. Close your eyes and think of the first time you heard sommebody say that they loved you. Close your eyes and think of the time that you finally realised it didn't really matter. Bottle these thoughts, put them on a CD, and you have the Catchers. Simplicity at its best with a velevet undertone.

Buy this album whilst you still can - it's been out for many years but still sounds good. Mark Radcliffe introdcued me to them on his evening show. Songs like Cotton Dress, Beauty No 3, and Apathy are surely too good to go unnoticed all these years? Every track is a good tune. Buy it damn you!
