I had heard a lot about this movie and was surprised when it did not have a cinema release. Despite the great influx of horror movies, there has never been one that truly captures the "Mutant" genera since the 1990's. Set in the distant future, WW3 has broken out between the four major corporations that now run Earth. The movie sees an ancient alien machine reactivated after many years to bring untold suffering to mankind in the form of mutants. An unlikely band of humans from all the represented corporations lead by a monk are brought together to fulfil a task set years ago to destroy the machine. The plot is sound and has a good premise in relation to its budget. The budget is also an issue when it comes to quality of visual, some scenes seem more realistic than others and it is very difficult to become involved in the dialogue between characters which is incredibly 2D at times.
However, I must say that it is well worth watching, the special effects are quite something and the general gore and war scenes are enough to keep the die hard fans of the genera interested...for a while. Worth it? Probably, but I would wait to find it in a bargain basket or at a lower price!
