I'm very new to classical music, but picked up a Mussorgsky record for a quid in a charity shop and have been slightly obsessed ever since! I adore 'Night on Bald Mountain' and bought this CD because that was on it, but I really enjoyed the other tracks too. They are all so atmospheric and strong. As a bonus, the last two tracks are composed by Borodin, who is now my second favourite composer :) Yes, I sound like an uncultured child, but everyone has to start somewhere, and the Russians seem as good a place as any!

Some lovely and descriptive music was written by these Russian composers. It was lovely to hear a selection on this CD.
