This is a book of blog posts about various topics: the media, politics, depression, shopping at Ikea... As befitting blog posts, these pieces are witty, conversational, scattershot, and in places inconclusive and ephemeral. You might wonder how such a book could deserve five stars... but it assuredly does.

The key is Baxter's personality, which comes across loud and clear no matter what he's writing about. Wise but doubtful of his own wisdom, sceptical but generous to those he's sceptical towards. Likes biscuits. Worries too much about his own failings, like most decent people. Someone you'd stand a pint to. It may be a false feeling, maybe the 'real' Seven Baxter isn't here in this gloriously messy and human book; but it sure feels like he is.

Funny and well-written with a hint of ginger. Surprisingly articulate for a monkey, although I've seen that new Planet of the Apes movie so that might explain it.
