As someone who plans to audition for musical theatre courses, I found this book extremely helpful and interesting to read. Gerry Tebbutt certainly knows his stuff! (well, he's Head of Musical Theatre at GSA Conservatoire, so what do you expect!) He covers all areas of auditioning, from selecting your material to the interview (including some rather amusing pitfalls!) and goes on to talk about how to continue building your skills once you are at drama school and once you have graduated. What I also find extremely helpful is that he describes different types of song you could do for auditions and gives an outline of the history of musical theatre, thus emphasising how vital it is to know as much as possible about the industry. A must-read for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in musical theatre!
