Product Description

CD Description
Northern Irish alt-metallers, still plugging away after nearly 20 years in the business, turn in the latest in Mercury's prestigious BBC Sessions series. This collection of singles, key album tracks, covers and rarities, all blasted out live in the studio under the auspices of Peel, Lamacq et al, presents a compelling snapshot of one of the best rock bands Britain has ever produced and a reminder of why, at the height of their powers, they were considered one of the best live bands in the business.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for fans, 11 Aug 2007
A band that are nowadays criminally underrated, Therapy? are one of the all time greats, with a stunning knack for a good tune and a diversity that gives them a cracking indie/metal/punk/pop/industrial back catalogue. Some of the classics from that back catalogue make an appearance here, and the raw nature of the recordings make it a nice alternative to the polished studio versions already available. Also a handful of the songs on here are pretty rare so this is a good way to fill in some of the gaps in your collection. It's not a patch on seeing the band live but rather comes across like a set of stripped down demos, highlighting Cairns' songwriting talent and the band's punk roots. If you've only a casual interest in the band the studio albums are a better bet but if you're a hardcore teethgrinder this is an absolute must.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant pure genius, 10 Jan 2008

Saw therapy live at donnington monsters of rock and live at sheffield leadmill years ago and then i lost touch. Then recently found troublegum cd and gave it a listen and instantly hooked again . Not all songs from this band will rock you to the core but they are so diverse that they really need to be back at the front of modern rock and show kids what its about. Listen to their music with an open mind and dont be easily offended .This cd brings back that raw live power that therapy excell in . Must see them live again.
