A great and surprising selection of songs and other music. A mix every bit as varied as the Tapestry itself. and drawing on so many talented artists

I was delighted to receive this CD as it accompanies the book recently published with the same title and covers some of the work ceated for the tapestry. I went through the notes in the CD and found that I had to refer to the book to relate "tunes" to tapestries. However, having done that I have enjoyed listening and reading the stories of the tapestries. Good

Each of the tracks on this CD directly relates to one of the panels of the Great Tapestry of Scotland. There is a broad mix of traditional, modern and two brand new pieces written especially for the Tapestry. On its own, it is a good CD but it really helps to bring to life the related panels.

The CD content is varied and certainly is a rich tapestry of music and song with some absolute gems and is deserving of 5 stars.

The only reason I have given a rating of 3 stars overall is that the MP3 version only has the first 20 tracks, So if you are looking for the last 20 tracks you have to wait for the CD to arrive. This has been confirmed by Amazon.

I find it very disappointing that the MP3 version has only half the tracks of the CD version and am especially disappointed that when promoting free MP3 downloads there is no mention of this fact on the CD version web page.

Buyer beware.

Wonderful selection, from lots of different regions. Bought for a gift for my Gaelic-speaking, Hebridean husband - who promptly asked me to buy another copy for his brother in New Zealand.
