This was brought as a present for a harp player, I chose it because it is solo harp rather than mixed instruments. My friend liked it very much so it worked out well.

The harp isn't inherently a bland instrument, but it does seem to lend itself readily to blandness. Most of the selections here merely confirm me in my dislike of the Romantic. I guess it is intended, as another reviewer says, for background music at a dinner party or wedding - any time when frilly, non-descript ladymusic is the order of the day.

Bought this as my sister plays harp by ear - really lovely tunes. relaxing, good for a dinner party i'd say :)
