Product Description

Product Description

Laura Logan loves life on Cape Cod, spending magical days by the sea with her beloved twin brother, Carey. But then the vicious rumours at school begin - cruel voices saying unspeakable things about the Logans. Laura tries to ignore them, but not until handsome, gentle Robert Royce moves to their town does she feel truly carefree and happy again. Then Grandma Olivia issues a chilling threat, forbidding Laura to see Robert ever again. Left alone to suffer because of dark secrets no one will explain, Laura obeys - until the miracle of a glorious summer leads her back into Robert's arms. But tragedy looms on the horizon: secrets from the Logans' shameful past are about to break - with tragic and devastating consequences.

This book is a great read. It has romance, drama, action and tradgedy. It is all about a girl called Laura Logan who is rescued from the sea by a light house keeper and then her grandmother comes to take her home. When she gets there, however, she discovers Laura has lost her memory, so she sends her to a mental institution to save the family embarassment.V Good

This book broke the usual pattern of previous VCA books by being about a cousin of the main protagonist rather than their children. But then, the ending of Unfinished Symphony pretty much wrapped up everything to give Cary and Melody a happy ending. My beef with this series is how helpless and fragile May is made simply because of her deafness, this is ridiculous. Other than that, the Logan family series had been decent, and this book gives us a surprising peek into the Logan family secrets.

After all, what had happened to Laura Logan when she ended up in the institution that Olivia had placed her in? This book offers an surprising peek at Uncle Jacob and the love he was capable of. It's pretty clear why Laura's family love her so much, so it offers an explanation for the way the family was in the first book of this series. However, Grandmother Olivia certainly hasn't changed much as she shows the same iron will before and after Laura's death. I do wish this book had some more details (what happened between Chester and Haille, for one, and so on and so forth) but this book is still a fairly enjoyable read.
