Another gem in the Listography series. It really does make a perfect gift - I've seen many people give this to friends whose wide eyes upon tearing open the wrapping paper say it all - but if you're thinking of buying it for yourself, I say... go for it!
It's such fun to fill in, and not just for list-lovers either. The idea really is genius. I think it's important to document what you do and don't like, but it also makes for an interesting read years, or even just months, later. You might discover which music you should be looking into next, or realise why you love that song so much. The best pages are open for the future, like 'music genres to explore someday'.
The space for writing and width of the lines isn't very big, so if you're a neat freak, then I'd think about writing your additions in pencil or on sticky notes first - but where's the fun in that? This book is a time and a place - you should look back and cringe, scribbling out that bad choice of 'theme song for your life', edit your dream festival line up over the years, or nod in approval at your younger self's favourite album, finally appreciating your excellent taste in music.
For everyone - buy this book!
