DARK MOUNTAIN

Mushi, a terrifying primitive life-form, take countless shapes–most of them deadly to the human race. Enter Ginko, a mushi expert, known as a mushishi. Though his laconic smile and soft-spoken manner don’t seem imposing, he represents the human world’s greatest defense. When a fellow mushishi disappears, Ginko must search for him on a mushi-infested mountain, putting his own life on the line!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Manga, great quality 12 Dec 2007
By Eyestrain - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I decided to purchase these books after watching the top-notch anime series and was extremely pleased to find they are almost exactly the same. This might not seem like a big deal, but finding a series who's anime adaptation is even close to the same is very rare. Everything that made the anime impressive was faithfully taken from these pages, making the book just as fun to read.
This is a wonderful, unique, and fantastic story and the quality of the publication is very high. The description on the back of the book ("Mushi are evil monsters that kill humans and Ginko has to stop them, etc") is inaccurate, as the story is more about learning and living in peace with the Mushi, but the translation notes in the back of the book, paper and print quality, and covers are really great.
Whether you love manga and want a change of pace or are curious about starting to read manga, this is a great one to pick up. A lot of very well-crafted stories for an inexpensive price!
