5.0 out of 5 stars The bible 31 Dec 2004
Simple, this is still the authoratative text available on muscle length testing and posture and pain. Kendalls work is qouted today by people such as Paul Chek and is as much at home in a physio's clinic as it is in a Personal training studio or sports science students is still the book i tend to refer to first on matters of postural correction and muscle function. A must have in the book collection of any serious personal trainer.

The best book around for reminders of muscle testing, for both muscle length and strength. There is also an excellent section on common posture types, plus commentary on nerve plexuses, dermatomes, myotomes and the like. If you haven't access to one, you should have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile purchase 29 Oct 2000
By Shorty - Published on
If you ever needed to know what all the muscles in the body were, where exactly they attached to the skeleton, what movement they created, and ways to test how strong they are this is the bible. As a physical therapist, this has been an invaluable book to have both as a student and as a clinician.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have For All Body Therapies! 17 Mar 2004
By Pascal Shaw - Published on
This is an excellent book.
It is a important reference book which I use and read cover to cover. The biggest plus about this book is the concept of alignment, and the various grouping of restrictions and weaknesses within the body. It shows this and explains these (rectrictions vs weakeness) very clearly and specifically which makes it easy to pick up theses patterns in people's bodies.
Although there are better books which are set out better, the commentary and insights contained within the book are invaluable.
It is a bit of a bible in many physical therapy circles.
Don't get too caught up, and remember that this book should only be a start point as things are more complicated than this.

I found this book (older edition) at one of my clinical sites. It it well put together and easy to follow. This is a great text for students who are learning MMT. I only wish that I had know about this book sooner.
