First things first, this book is tiny - it is 96 pages, and about the size of a bathroom tile. This doesn't take anything away from the book, I was just a little suprised when the tiny thing dropped out of the envelope.

This book only has one purpose - to make Matt Roberts, the pencil-necked author, more money. This is not a serious 'muscle' book by any means, so if you are looking for a comprehensive book about muscle-building exercises get 'Strength Training Anatomy' by Frederic Delavier.

All the exercises in this book focus on three parts of the anatomy - arms, chest and abs. No back, legs, neck or buttocks to been seen. There are three or four simple exercises on each of the main muscle groups covered, along with some simple (but effective) advice on nutrition and stretching, as well as educational Q&A sections.

If you are serious about getting fit, go to the gym, or at least buy another book, this one is as good as useless and I wouldn't even reccomend it to the absolute beginner because it is woefully incomplete. Even the most basic of beginners 'muscle and fitness' guides have basic exercises for your whole body. This book doesn't even cover half.

Although only a small book it has an excellent set of exercises and advice on how many reps and sets to do. Admittedly, it does concentrate around the upper body and leaves legs and buttocks out, but at the end of the day, if it's those pecs, abs and biceps you're after for your next beach holiday in the sun then this is the most efficient way I've found of getting there.

I used to take it to the gym and weight train with machines, but I found 90% of the exercises don't need machines, so instead I stay at home where a bench, barbell and dumbbell set is suffice. The other 10% of exercises can be modified to do with a pull-up bar.

I've been training for about 8 months, but 3 months ago bought this book. I've been using the 2 routines in the book (one concentrates on chest and 'pushing' exercises, the other on biceps and 'pulling' exercises) and have recently noticed the difference.

Buy the book. You won't regret it. At this price you can't afford not to!

Very good book for first-time weight trainers as well as veteron gym-goers, interesting read with lots fo helpful hints and advise for weight training. Lots of different & new exercises to suit any individual who wants to train weights to gain maximum benefits. A recommended read for all weight training enthusiasts.
