This book was recommended to my wife by a Lifetime Personal Training course tutor as it is seen to be fit for NVQ level 2. Other reviewers have mentioned that there are alternative publications that offer far more details about the muscles in our bodies, but they may have missed the point because this book is designed to be a starting point before moving on to more complex studies later. At only 48 pages long it is inevitably short on explicit or comprehensive detail but for a relatively quick read it is more than adequate. It is a basic personal body parts manual dedicated, of course, to muscles - what they look like, what they are attached to, what they move, what happens when they weaken, what to watch out for to avoid injury and some simple finger first-aid. The emphasis is one of relative simplicity, basic information without going into explicit detail.
In all, 36 muscles in the body are described and explained in basic terms.
