The Muscle Book 2 Sep 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is a fantastic basic muscle directory - it explains it as it is - the important muscles are named and located and it is a great first stage for muscle anatomy for massage or similar. The explanations of the origins ,insertions and actions of the muscles are succinct and clear.
My only critcism is that perhaps it is a little shallow - but it covers the necessary basics and prepares the reader to move onto the next stage.

Written with students in mind, this book takes each muscle and shows where it is in the body, what it looks like, where it's insertion and origin are, and also tells you about anything that may affect the muscle that you wouldn't think of (i.e. particular nutrient requirements).

Very Comprehensive
Was a little disappointed that the pictures were only in black and, but the information was concise and to the point. The ring binding design made the book easy to use. Read more

Very basic
I'm studying sports massage and thought this book might be a useful summary, but the detail was inadequate, and the inclusion of "finger first aid" for each muscle was odd.

There are much better books out there
The illustrations are not great and there is some quasi-homeopathic mumbo-jumbo. The "Atlas of Skeletal Muscles" by Robert Stone and Judith Stone is far, far superior.

Easy to use
Useful book for those of us who are not studying to be doctor. It's simple and focuses on the most important muscles. I have no complaints.
