This is a great book for children who have been in multiple homes and need an explanation about why that is. For younger children especially, who may not be ready to be told the exact reason, this book provides an easy explanation. It shows that Murphy, the puppy, finally ends up in the home best for him, where the people can take care of him, have time for him, and are patient with him as he learns the rules. It is a very good book that young children can identify with and best of all it brings home the idea that it is not their fault and that they are not bad, but rather that there are some homes that are best and others that are not.
