Product Description

Product Description

A burnt out London policeman is moved to a small sleepy English village where he hopes to spend his days doing nothing more than calming disputes between farmers and local residents. However, he soon finds life in this sleepy village holds more than just everyday simple infringements of the law. A series of brutal murders begin to happen and these are eventually traced to the local Inn where it comes to light that ancient Roman religious sects and deities form an integral part of the murders. He soon becomes trapped in their web of deceit and he himself becomes an offering to the God. His colleague, a pretty young police officer, is all that stands in the way of him being sacrificed.

About the Author

My name Simon Murphy and I live in a small village with my wife and son. For my second novel I have drawn upon my experiences of village life and used my interest in ancient Roman lifestyle, culture and deity to incorporate all this within my second novel.

Good Holiday Read 18 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I found the length of this book to be just right as it was a book you could take on holiday or read while on a train, bus or plane and thoroughly enjoy it. I found the subject matter to appeal to me very much as I like murder mysteries and this was one with a difference because of the ancient Roman twist while all the time being set in a small English village. I found this altogether a thoroughly enjoyable read and look forward to any further murder mysteries this author may write.

A thrilling chiller 29 Mar 2004
Format:Paperback
The Murders of Mutchrose Village is an old-fashioned murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat right to the very end.

Simon Murphy's second novel departs from the usual crime thriller by bringing in the wierd world of the supernatural, local superstitions and good old spine-tingling horror.

Who is committing the grisly murders in this sleepy hamlet? Read it and enjoy!

FROM THE AUTHOR. 18 Sep 2003
By S. Murphy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Hi there!
This is my second novel (the first THE VALENTINE ROSE ISBN 1904502237) to date and this one is a total departure from my first.
I have (hopefully) mixed modern day with a touch of ancient Roman good old fashioned blood lust.
A lot of research was done to try and get the Roman aspect of dress, weapons, dates as accurate as possible.
I hope you enjoy reading THE MURDERS OF MUTCHROSE VILLAGE just as much as I did writing it.
Many thanks.
Simon.
