About the Author
Julian Fox was born in Hythe, Kent, and raised in Folkestone, Canterbury and North London. After working as a farm labourer and cinema projectionist, he served in the RAF, then trained for the stage at the Bristol Old Vic School, subsidising his grant as a tour guide in Switzerland. Was for many years an actor, working in all media, while concurrently writing stories, film reviews and general articles. He contributed to the part work The Movie (Orbis), also published in hard back. His first solo book was Woody: Movies from Manhattan, published in Britain, the US and Japan. Has also written radio scripts, chapters on movie finance and other topics for various annuals, as well as contributing to two books of verse. Some of his earlier stories are revised for the present anthology. More recent ones, like the novellas James Was a Good Boy and Three Times is Enough, appear for the first time.
