By David TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Murder By The Sea is the 4th book in Lesley Cookman's series featuring Psychic Fran Castle and middle aged acress Libby Sarjeant who like Jessica fletcher or Miss Marple, have a habit of becomming embroilled in murder. Fran is settling into her new cottage in the coastal town Nethergate Bay. Soon a body is discovered and Fran finds herself being once again drawn into the investigation. So she turns to her old friend Libby Sarjeant for help.

As with Lesley Cookman's previous book the plot moves at a good pace and there is the usual whitty dialogue. Being a "cosey crime" book there is very little sex and no graphic violence which makes a nice change from the usual graphic murder and violence which a lot of murder mysteries seem to have now days. This is the 4th book in the series but you don't really have to read them in order though it does help. So if you miss the good old days of Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers then why not give Lesley Cookman's excellent books a go.

murder mystery 5 May 2011
Format:Paperback
Another great plot from the Libby Sarjeant series. The same characters appear like the old friends they are to solve the latest crime,m this time in the seaside town of Nethegate. It's another story with theatre in the background, although this time the theatre is not the focus of the story. This is the only thing that gets on me a bit with this series, not being a theatre lover, the production side of the stories seem to be unnecessary apart from the ones that revolve around the theatre itself. Aside from that, the gang are in fine form and if you like a more gentle, villagey kind of mystery novelas opposed to the more gritty, police based dramas, this series is perfect.

Another triumph 12 Oct 2008
Format:Paperback
Another great read. I love the characters and the setting about which we learn a little more in each book. And I love the mystery too, not too much blood but just enough suspense to make you desperate to read to the end. Hope there's going to be another Libby Sarjeant story out soon. Would thoroughly recommend this and all the others in the series.
