Another good "cozy" mystery 3 Jan 2007
By Armchair Interviews - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Jennifer Shane left her sister's scrapbooking shop to open Custom Card Creations, a specialty card store in Rebel Forge, Virginia. Jennifer is named Businessperson of the Year, but isn't able to enjoy the honor because the Chamber President, Eliza Glade's body is discovered just as she's about to receive the award.

Anyone could be the murderer as Eliza has numerous enemies among the townspeople. But Jennifer's sister, Sara Lynn tops the list. As Jennifer tries to clear her sister's name (with the help of their aunt Lillian) another body is found and the stakes rise. The next murder just might be Jennifer.

Elizabeth Bright writes an engaging and fast read and incorporates interesting information about card making while solving the murders. There was one glaring mistake that the author and editor didn't catch. It's a timeline element where Jennifer was supposedly at a shop one morning, when it actually was the day before that she had been at the shop talking with a suspect.

Armchair Interviews says: Even with the glaring timeline mistake, Murder and Salutations is a good read.

murder & salutations 2 Feb 2007
By Sarah Banks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is the first book I've read in this series, and I liked it a lot. It wasn't the greatest cozy I've read, but I'll probably buy the first two and read them. I enjoyed Jennifer a lot; she was probably my favorite part of the book. The mystery wasn't too difficult to solve, though. The best part was Jennifer and the supporting cast in Rebel Forge, VA.
