Having seen some episodes of Series 1 in recent months on ITV and having been intrigued enough by the excellent storylines, the brilliant interplay between the two main leads, as played by Lisa Faulkner and Caroline Catz, and by it's overall quirkyness, I resolved to see if there were any boxed sets of the Series available. Thankfully there were. My only disappointment with this excellent TV show is that they appear to have only made two series. What a pity!
Murder in Suburbia is an excellent police crime drama reflecting, I believe, a more realistic portrayal of policing in the UK with less of car chases & bullets flying and more interaction with real life characters both within the police force and the public. However, it is the two leads that really deliver the great performances and it is their interplay as much as the storylines that make this show a success.
There have been many police crime dramas with both boy/boy and boy/girl partnerships featured but not many girl/girl partnerships which is a pity. The only other one that comes to mind is the US Police Drama, Cagney & Lacey.
