Having seen some episodes of Series 1 in recent months on ITV and having been intrigued enough by the excellent storylines, the brilliant interplay between the two main leads, as played by Lisa Faulkner and Caroline Catz, and by it's overall quirkyness, I resolved to see if there were any boxed sets of the Series available. Thankfully there were. My only disappointment with this excellent TV show is that they appear to have only made two series. What a pity!

Murder in Suburbia is an excellent police crime drama reflecting, I believe, a more realistic portrayal of policing in the UK with less of car chases & bullets flying and more interaction with real life characters both within the police force and the public. However, it is the two leads that really deliver the great performances and it is their interplay as much as the storylines that make this show a success.

There have been many police crime dramas with both boy/boy and boy/girl partnerships featured but not many girl/girl partnerships which is a pity. The only other one that comes to mind is the US Police Drama, Cagney & Lacey.

I love this series. The chemistry between the main actors is excellent. The series itself is entertaining and funny, as was the first series. The only thing I should say is that in each episode of the dvd, there is a sort of break where the words 'murder in suburbia' pop up. It happens approximately 3 times in each episode (probably where the adverts would have been shown on tv). It doesn't take away the enjoyment of the episode, I just thought people may want to know before they bought the product.

Absolutely loved both series 1 and 2 when they came onto tv, and just had to get the dvds. Great show, the main characters are believable and have excellent chemistry, my only issue is that it was axed! Definately should have had at least another 2-3 series!!

I have watched series 2 and 3 on TV but have ordered series one as I have missed that.

I thoroughly enjoyed this programme - so much so, I wrote to ITV to ask them to consider more episodes! As has already been said, the chemistry between Ash and Scribbs is what makes the programme so watchable. As a female viewer, I'm not really into all the car chasing and gun-toting ways of male cops: probably why I don't watch them anymore. The storylines don't get bogged down by romance/sex scenes either which is nice (although the flirting between Ash and 'Boss' makes me smile but it stays at that, just flirting).

Although ITV have a new series with two female detectives, the misery level between the two of them (and everyone else to be honest) is unbearable, I shan't be watching that again.

I would thoroughly recommend Murder In Suburbia.

Great fun. The reparte between the two main characters kept us laughing throughout these episodes. Few foul words used in these, but three episodes feature unclad men's bums in front of the camera.
Witty, engaging plots and characters and several parts that are downright hilarious.
