A hilarious mixture of southern belle and backwoods law. I found this mystery to be engaging and full of funny twists and turns. Bonnie Lou and her Chunk of Hunk are a match made in heaven, and a great way to spend an afternoon! I would definitely recommend this book to my friends who love mystery and comedy!

I would categorize this book as a chick lit mystery. Ms. Acorn has created an engaging new amateur sleuth with Bonnie Lou. She's a charming and proper Tennessee lady, and former beauty pageant winner who takes matters into her own hands - even homicide detective work on behalf of her hunk a chunk sheriff boyfriend. While the story is short, rather a novella length, the main character is enjoyable, and clues to the mystery unfold to the reader through Bonnie Lou's 1st person narrative. And after reading this story I would love the chance at getting my hands on 'The Southern Gal's Handbook to Keeping Your Man', just to see where Bonnie Lou's motives come from.

I would like to see this character come back for more Bonnie Lou mystery stories. And if so, perhaps Ms. Acorn could develop her secondary characters a little more and give us more depth into the sheriff, and Bonnie Lou's BFF. You can't go wrong with this Kindle price if you are in the mood for a quick good read.
