I bought this and the yellow wean machine to try out for taking with us on a holiday abroad as my daughter had just started on solids before we left. Compared to the wean machine this was fantastic. I just cooked the fruits and vegetables and then whizzed it through this. Not too messy, easy to wash up and quick. It didn't puree as such like a blender would (and now I'm home I use the blender more) but it creates tiny cubes of food (much much smaller than the wean machine does). My daughter didn't seem to mind at all! Now I'm home I use it for crushing things that would be ruined by the blender (eg. Raw papaya, potato/sweet potato, raw mango). Good buy.

This works fabulously as a potato ricer, but it just can't cope with anything tough like runner beans (unless you have half an hour to grind just a handful). Like another reviewer said, all the liquid goes through first (messy) and then the drier bits lag behind and block the thing up. I wouldn't take this away with me either- just take a couple of jars or something homemade in a plastic pot. The 3 stars are for the fact that it does actually work and does make beautiful mashed potato, but it couldn't get more as it is a pain to use and is slow. I am busy with my baby, I don't have hours and hours to grind food by hand! Buy a cheap hand blender and a couple of plastic jugs instead.

It turns most foods into a puree however the blades are not sharp at all which means that certain foods are not mashed properly.Perhaps the blades are blunt on purpose so that the grinder can be brought on the plane when one travels. Also, you have to rotate the handle while you push the grinder down and if you have problems with your wrists(as I have) the whole process is unconfortable. All in all, handy if you are out and about.

This product is very light and easy to carry, I use it for fruit (to remove thread-like parts) and legumes to peel them.

This was a fiddly thing to use, and didn't really do the job I bought it for. It was binned after a week!

BABY FOOD PREPERATION
Got this instead of a Moulinex Mill to prepare our 8 month old grandson's food. Not easy to get used to at first as you have to dismantle the grinder part to fill with food. Read more
