Pennsylvania based producer Mass Hystereo released this 4 tract self titled EP on 1500 Records, a subdivision of Polygram, that has at least one other notable release I know of, David Holmes, - "Let's Get killed" its nice to see they are continuing in the same fashion. On to the music. All cuts have a definite funk to them making them dance floor friendly and just plain fun. The opening track "Multitrack Mother" flows like a roller coaster ride a lot of ups and downs with a chunky bass line dropping a vocal sample here and there. My money is on track two, "Acid" a kickin' bass line, and heavily synthed guitar riffs that break and build with the bass line. Tweaked vocal samples frequently float in and out dropping the words "acid" and "don't mess with me" nice song. Track 3 "1, 2, 3 Go" carries along in pretty much the same fashion as the second. The fourth song "Warm Up" has a little different feel to it almost bringing a sense of urgency, making the listener feel there was something about to happen, when it didn't. Over all this was fun listening and comes recommended.
