Kitab Ash-shifa bi ta'rif huquq al-Mustafa, (Healing by the recognition of the Rights of the Chosen one), of Qadi 'Iyad (d. 544H / 1149CE) is perhaps the most frequently used and commented upon handbook in which the Prophet's life, his qualities and his miracles are described in every detail.
Generally known by its short title, Ash-Shifa, this work was so highly admired throughout the Muslim world that it soon acquired a sanctity of its own for it is said: "If Ash-Shifa is found in a house, this house will not suffer any harm...when a sick person reads it or it is recited to him, Allah s.w.t., will restore his health."

This book by Qadi Iyad al Maliki has a unique place in the history of Islam for books written about The Beloved Messenger of Islam (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him!): it is the most respected, authentic, and revered book in this genre and its Arabic original has never been out of print since it was written over 700 years or more ago!
It is therefore a great pleasure to have this book available now for the first time in English. This will enable those readers who cannot speak Arabic, both Muslim and non-Muslim, to understand how Muslims have traditionally understood and explained the life and exalted rank of Our Prophet (peace be upon him).
This book therefore will be a must for all those who wish to understand Muslims and Islam as it has been understood by orthodox, moderate, mainstream Islam for 1400 years as, in order to understand Muslims, you have to understand the Muslims' love and conception of their beloved Prophet (upon whom be peace and blessings) and no other book does this better than this great work by the Andulusian Muslim Qadi Iyad.
Its full Arabic title is Kitab ash-Shifa bi ta'rif huquq al Mustafa (The Book of Healing by the Explanation of the Rights of The Chosen One)but it is commonly known just as "Ash-Shifa", The Healing for it is believed that any house which has this book in it will be protected from evil by Allah, such is the reverence attached to this book in the traditional Islamic world.

Aisha Bewley has rendered a great service to the English speaking world with her masterful translation of this book - masha'allah. I have only recently begun to read it having come across references to it several times by well-respected Muslim scholars. It is one of the great books of classical Islamic orthodoxy having gained widespread acceptance throughout the Muslim world for centuries. It basically delineates the status, characteristics and rights of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him), in a comprehensive and scholarly manner. Bewley's translation is brilliant - lucid, succinct and natural, a real pleasure to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to come closer to our Messenger in knowledge and love - I am now taking out time to read through it every evening with my family. Thank you for making this treasure available to English-speaking Muslims.

Must have this book in your collection..... Automaticaly you gain more love for the prophet Muhammed (pbuh) The book was written over 600 years ago in arabic and just a few years translated it into English. By having this book in your house you have bllessings (barkath) in your house... I searched everywhere on the net to buy this book and amazon was the cheapest and delivery was quick. Must buy well worth the money!!!
