The most splendid work I have ever read on the prophet. Not a biography, but a serious insight into the nature and veneration of the prophet - his names, nature, essence, power and miracles. Gathered from hadith, quran, tradition all branches of Islam and Islamic mysticism. Professor Schimmel has structured and written the book so that the reader flows from page to page and chapter to chapter held fascinated and transfixed until the very last page has been read. Includes most beautiful names of the prophet, complete extensive bibliography and source of quotes, traditions etc.

Its excellent it brings forth various references from all kinds of Muslim nations who have traditions of veneration towards the last messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
