5.0 out of 5 stars Can't recommend highly enough!!! 29 Nov 2005
Format:Paperback
My boss had told a friend that her staff would bake something for her bring-and-buy sale in aid of charity. It was nice of her to volunteer us, unfortunately I (and most of the staff) don't cook very much.
Walking through a local homestore a few days before the sale, I spotted this book and thought 'Everyone likes muffins!' I did a taste-test on my flatmates with 2 varieties (the summer berry and white choc, and the triple choc fudge-heaven on earth!), 12 of each. They were all gone in 24 hours. I live with 3 women.
The recipes are clear and easy to understand (even to a complete no-hoper like me!), with australian terminology explained at the start of the book for overseas readers. There's basic muffin recipes for the beginner and more advanced varieties for the adventurous among us. Alternative ideas are given if something in the recipe is out of season or for a different taste. The photos are fantastic, and best of all, your muffins _do_ come out of the oven looking like them!
My boss brought over everything we made on the night before the sale. She went down the following afternoon to buy some of my muffins. They'd sold about half an hour after the sale opened!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars cheap and cheerful 28 Oct 2003
Format:Paperback
A cheap book packed with recipes. As someone who hadnt made muffins before, it was brimming wth info. It has a section with basic muffins in as well and then once you've mastered those, you can obviously try something more complex. It is very good value, well illustrated and has conversions as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty and easy 8 Jun 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Like the title of the book, these recipes are "sweet and simple". I have made a few muffin recipes from this book and they have all turned out fantastic. It is definitely the book I reach for first when I want to make a batch of muffins.
