I wish I had listened to all the negative reviews instead of ignoring them and buying a pair of these because they're absolutely rubbish I only had them 2 days and the bottom fell out where the screws go now I'm left with a hole in the bottom of one of them please don't do what I did and buy them despite reading the bad reviews about them because you will be disappointed :(

I used to be a pushbike courier, did around 350 miles a week. I would have needed almost 2 pairs for that.

I ordered size 9.5 but normally take size 9. Even the 9.5 felt to small and cramped my toes both at the front and side. The shoes themselves look quite well made and had they fitted better I would have kept them (I have no intention of using cleats so that weakness is not a concern). They are quite smart and comfy (other than too small). I had considered returning for a size 10 but I think Sports Direct paid for post and returns post makes its too expensive to faff around so I have returned them and ordered a pair of Shimanos for £46 (£20 more) which I can pick up and return to the local Evans Cycles branch. I fall to under stand why Sports Direct cannot do the same. Evans also do free delivery and return, Sports Direct prices look good but you need to factor in the postage.

I exchanged some other Muddy Fox shoes for these at a Sports Direct store after buying on Amazon (I mistakenly bought ones with the wrong fittings). The service I received in store was excellent, the replacement shoes however were not. After a few attempts at setting up the cleats on the shoes I noticed that one of the plates holding the screw plate in position was not in line with the other, on closer inspection the plate was not actually "in line" with the shoe itself. I returned these shoes for another pair which, upon inspection at home, had both plates fitted incorrectly. At this point I gave up and used the store credit for clothes and paid £50 (in a sale) for an excellent pair of Specialized shoes, I only wish I'd done this in the first place.

I have had a pair of these for about a year, after about 8 months the cleat mechanism tore out through the sole and was attached to the pedal,i did effect a repair and complained to SD who did say to return them, however the repair is holding out. The RRP of £90 is an eye catcher as they are nowhere near that quality, spend £20 more on a pair of Shimanos

Was really enjoying these shoes until they completely fell apart. They were comfortable and easy to walk in as well as looking good. They did a pretty good job whilst clipped in and provided a pretty stable footing.... however, both SPD plates cracked and fell apart after only light use. The material must be pretty poor quality. Also, I had to order a second pair after my first pair were a size too small.

I bought a pair from a high street shop and thought they were quite good at first but that didn't last long. I found that the plate which holds the cleat had started coming away from the sole. First the right and now the left shoe. I know they are low value but for only another 20 - 30 pounds you could get a much better pair of cycle shoes. I wouldn't waste your money.

I ordered these to see if I could get on with clip-less pedals, prior to splashing out dollops of cash on better gear, so it isn't a great surprise that they were not the best quality. But I have to say that they failed even to live up to my worst expectations of them. The mechanism by which the shoe connects to the cleat tore off after a very short period of time. The twisting of the foot required to release the foot from the pedal simply weakened the cleat fixing plate inside the shoe, and I ended up with the insert attached to the pedal, together with the cleat etc...a right pain to remove and, naturally, the shoe is now defunct. Shell out a few extra quid and buy something half descent.
