if you're only going to buy one bhundu boys album, don't buy this but get hold of 'the shed sessions' instead - trust me it's an amazing album.

but...

if you already own 'the shed sessions' and would love to hear some more of the same, then this is an excellent choice. it returns to the sound of their early work, as featured on 'the shed sessions', that they departed from on 'true jit' and 'friends on the road'.

all in all, a very enjoyable listen.

Pure Zimbabwean Gold 18 May 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I saw the Bhundu Boys in concert on the 1st of July 1997 in concert, and it was the best night out I have ever had, and Muchyedza (Out of the Dark) was a superb way to remember the night. The basslines on "Dorica" are brilliant and "Mumahanzi We Jit" is one of the most uplifting songs around. The tempo is blisteringly fast from the outset, so the dedicated Jit jive fan will not be let down. Buy some beer, invite your friends around, turn the thermostat up, and put this on and hey presto, you will have recreated a Zimbabwean Beer garden in your own living room.
