Up to Miss Read's usual standard. A lovely, relaxing story, full of gentle humour. Miss Read's characters are well portrayed and the ups and downs of life are all there, without the "kitchen sink" side of life. Very highly recommended.

Just as a Persian rug maker uses yarn of many different colors and designs to weave a rug of exquisite beauty; so does Miss Read use many colorful characters and events to create a colorful masterpiece of fiction.
