I bought this for my little girl who is doing "oceans " theme at school, as we've been looking at various pirate books and associated, treasure, messages in bottles, telescopes etc. I thought it would be good to have a story centred around a female character, as all our stories feature male pirates.
To be honest I think the story is a bit bland, but never the less it will good for her to read

I used this for pirate week (Yr 2 Severe Learning Difficulties). I used real objects to support the book and they loved it. Simple, fun pictures.
