Another gem from Jan Fearnley. Mr Wolf is having a birthday party for Baby Bear. He and Grandma Wolf spend ages preparing delicious food (there's a real recipe for Chocolate Huff Puffs) and getting ready. But when the Three Bears arrive, they bring an uninvited guest - Goldilocks - who is really obnoxious and does everything to try to spoil the party. Poor Mr Wolf! However, Grandma Wolf saves the day. Adults will immediately understand the ending, young children may not, but it doesn't matter. Horrid Goldilocks has gone and the party is saved. Highly recommend this book to Mr Wolf fans and others. It's surprisingly difficult to get hold of, for some reason, and why doesn't Amazon have a picture of the front cover?

Poor Mr Wolf. He is having a party for the three bears and his Grandma is helping him prepare. Then Goldilocks gatecrashes and ruins everything - she is rude, greedy and unkind. Will it all go wrong? Grandma suggests a game - hide and seek. There certainly IS an ending to this book (it was suggested in another review that there was no proper ending) as Goldilocks is made into a nice, birthday PIE! Will appeal probably to a slightly older child - four and up, who will not get upset by Goldilocks getting her just desserts...

Fed up with tedious nightime reading? My son loves the Mr Wolf stories, and we love reading them. Guaranteed to make everyone smile.

my 3-5 year olds love this book
Lovely pictures in a book that's a twist from several traditional stories. Goldilocks is as always a horrible little girl but Mr Wolf is a "goodie". Read more
