Product Description

One of the first films to tackle anti-Smitism and Nazi atrocities, this story of a beautiful woman's fight against aging spans the period from WWI to the opening hostilities of WWII. A truly great star turn with excellent supporting cast and tight direction. A classic of its kind.

They sure don't make films like this and I doubt they would. Bette is amazing as a new york socialite, broke but flirtatious who marries her brother's boss for security (Claude Rains). It is melodramatic, romantic, comic and a perfect sunday afternoon movie. Not in the same league as jezebel or all about eve but certainly a class above the dross of bland leading ladies we have to contend with now.

really wonderful ,a mixture of humour and pathos.bette as the ageless fanny skeffington until ravaged by diphtheria (ending up looking a bit like baby jane)and claude rains as the ever suffering husband.perfect to sit down and watch on a rainy sunday.really underrated jewel of a film with a feel good bittersweet ending.a must.
