Every once in a while you read a book that you enjoy so much that you never want it to end and Mr Right for the Night fits into this catagory. I bought the book after reading Marisa Mackle's short story "Girls Weekend" in Irish girls about Town so I was realy hoping that her debut novel would be as funny; I wasn't disapointed. From the first page I was hooked and could totaly relate to the main character Anna Allstone. In fact it made me laugh as so many of the things Anna does have happened to me too! Not that I'd ever admit to them! Anyone who has struggled to find their own Mr Right will find great amusement in this book as Anna battles her way though an army of Mr Wrongs in pursuit of a Mr Right to bring to the Ex- school Bully's Reunion which she is holding in her mansion. But it seems Anna has as much chance of winning the lottery as of finding a suitable candidate. The only men she meets are ether under-age, under-paied or suffering from a severe humour defincincy disorder!And it seems the harder she tries to snare the perfect man the less successful she is. Meanwhile on the work front her career seems to be going from strenght to strenght, but as time runs short the question on everyones lips is can Anna Allstone locate Mr Right for the Night before its too late?

I highly recommend this book to readers of all dispositions. I bought this book on the advice of a friend who knows I normally only buy books that have a submarine or an F-16 on the cover! Therefore the idea of buying a romantic comedy about a 30 year old Irish girl looking for the perfect date for her school reunion seemed a liitle incongruous to me. However the book is a wonderful read and I can't recommend it highly enough. The author combines her wonderfully relaxed prose with an astute knowledge of the Dublin dating scene to create a thoroughly enjoyable romantic comedy which I found very entertaining. She develops a number of very intriguing characters throughout the course of the principal character's voyage of discovery in her quest for the perfect date, and keeps the reader enthralled until the very end. The book is funny and beguiling and appeals to readers of all ages and backgrounds. The author, Marisa Mackle, should be congratulated on the breadth of her literary appeal and I highly recommend this, her first book, and look forward to her subsequent publications.

Marisa Mackles debut 'Mr right for the night' will have you laughing and crying all at the same time. Her style is unique, her writing superb and her expertise at plots which change rapidly from one gem to another keeps you turning the page effortlessly. Marisa has a way of taking you down one road only to find you have been veered off in another direction. It makes you sigh when you come to the end because you just can't help wanting more of the same. Marisa will be a huge hit. When she reaches number one, I for one, will not be surprised at all.
