Amazon Review

Jaine Bright and three close friends share dinner one night and during casual conversation, create a list of qualifications for Mr Perfect--some logical, some hilariously funny, some racy. Within days, their tongue-in-cheek wish list of attributes for the perfect man has been leaked to the press and the resultant publicity is overwhelming. Coworkers, TV crews and reporters barrage the quartet with comments and criticism.

As if Jaine doesn't have enough to cope with, she has a new neighbour who she suspects is a criminal. She's relieved to learn that her neighbour is really an undercover cop, but she's still wary--because smart, sexy Sam Donovan handles her sharp witticisms with easy humour, and Jaine suspects that he may threaten her heart. What Jaine doesn't know is that she's about to need Sam desperately for something other than romance because her circle of friends is in big trouble. Unfortunately, that list of qualifications for Mr Perfect has touched off a madman's rage. All of their lives are threatened and some of them are going to die, maybe all of them, if Sam can't stop the unknown killer.

Mr Perfect brings to readers the quintessential Linda Howard hero, whose straightforward, "me Tarzan, you Jane" attitude plays well with a smart, witty heroine. The rapid-fire dialogue between the two is downright hilarious at times, even when the two are about to steam up the windows and burn up the sheets. It's difficult to balance this kind of humour and sensuality with edgy suspense, but Howard manages it with aplomb. If you enjoyed Heart of Fire and Dream Man, you're going to love this latest novel. It's drop-dead wonderful. --Lois Faye Dyer, Amazon.com

I read this on an aeroplane over the Atlantic and it was hard not to laugh out loud at some of it. A funny, witty heroine and a tough and confident guy make a good partnership in a book which has humour, romance, suspense and sex. It was the best light hearted book I have read in ages and my first introduction to this author. The women is how most of us girls like to think we are and the guy we wish we could meet, who is not threatened or put off by a confident, sexy, modern woman. Recommended if you like sexy romances with a touch of suspense but not if you are a prude!

I have read all Linda Howard's books, and I was not dissappointed with this book. Jainie and her three friends make a list of their idea of the perfect man, which is accidently published in the newspaper, then on TV and internet. A killer stalks the four friends killing them one by one... A very sexy , funny and a good twist to the end, book Well recommended read.

This was a much more enjoyable read than All The Queens Men and Now You See Her, which were way too dark for my taste. I have to like the main characters to enjoy a book. Sam is to die for, and Jaine is a great match for him! They reminded me strongly of Gray and Faith in After The Night(easily my favourite L Howard book), especially the humour, and heat, of their encounters! The only problem I had with Mr Perfect was the somewhat uneasy mix of the funny dialogue and situations with the murder story. The baddie really gave me the creeps. When I re-read the book, I can imagine myself skipping over those bits to get back into the Sam and Jaine side! That apart, I would strongly recommend Mr Perfect, every woman should have one!

Witty, sexy and fun! I never get tired of reading it. It's got enough twists and turns to put carnival rides to shame. I couldn't put the book down! I had to remind myself constantly that this was a story, which was very difficult considering the characters were very much 'real'. The main character, Jaine Bright is funny, sarcastic and speaks her mind. Her next-door neighbour, Sam is rough and masculine (sigh) and is a cop. Put those two in a bowl, add some sex appeal, a sprinkle of humour a dash of suspense and danger and what do you have? A fantastic read.

I am a big fan of Linda Howard and I enjoyed this book tremendously. Jaine and Sam are great central characters and their sparkling conversations full of wit and sarcasm and repartee were hugely entertaining. The only reason i have not rated this book with five stars is that i felt that the relationship between Jaine and Sam could have been given a little more space and depth in the book. I would have liked to read more of Sam's perspective as the relationship unfolds. Nonetheless I would recommend this book to all.

How can you resist a title like that? Mr. Perfect! This is a really good read. The heroine is appealing and funny, she's little but couragous and meets her match in the seriously sexy and damn near perfect, Sam Donavan. Ms Howard doesn't spare the blushes when the sparks start flying off of these two and that is what keeps the book interesting and entertaining. The suspence is good, and the secondary characters engaging enough to forgive the enormously stupid mistakes they make. Since it's far from difficult to figure out who the villain of the book is, you will be forgiven for wanting to yell "Look BEHIND you stupid!". If I have any minor gripes, it would be just that there is an awful lot of fuss made over a list that contains nothing that any group of women couldn't(in fact regularly do) come up with of a Saturday night and it seemed a bit far fetched that such universally accepted (if mildly raunchy) thoughts could shake a marriage, threaten a job and get you onto national TV. Also, I found the violence, although far from graphic, somewhat degrading and it's a shame that the book couldn't have taken its "girl power" stance a bit sooner. That said, it does redeme itself with a fine "Sisters are doin' it for themselves" ending, and earns it's "chick lit" badge with honours.

I loved this book, and have re-read it several times. The chemistry between Janie and Sam is great, they really strike sparks off each other. The one liners between them are brilliant and you can really feel the passion between them. The storyline is trully suspenseful and the killer of the "List" ladies is creepy beyond belief(which I liked). Sam is my kind of hero definitely alpha male but humorous with a reluctant caring streak. Janie is a strong character who is sassy and independent and gives as good as she gets. This is one of my favourite Linda Howard books- definitely a classic.

We've all been there- an email written just for friends escalating out of control...Jaine & her friends draw up a list of attributes for the perfect male. The whole thing escalates into a media frenzy ,thereby triggering a psychotic killer....all the while Jaine doesn't realise that her Mr Perfect is right underneath her nose & that she will be needing his help very soon...it's witty, well written,so hilarious at times I was laughing out loud -I thoroughly enjoyed it & would recommend this book- it's definately a keeper.
