Don't expect too much, this is anniversary product, without big surprises.

It's one hour of main footage (members of Doors and friends talking about making L.A. woman LP) and 45 minutes of extras (more talking and recently discovered song "She Smells So Nice").

I didn't recognize any unseen archive video material on this edition, maybe just few photos.

Anyway, it's good to see Ray, Robby and John again, and listen (one more time:-) storys about Jim, Pam, recording sessions, and crucial moments of that year.

L.A.Woman revisited 16 Feb 2012
Format:DVD
Not quite as good as the job done on the Doors' first album, or perhaps it's just that the material is becoming over familiar. Where it works best, as for the first album DVD, is in the studio when engineer Bruce Botnick breaks down the instruments and shows how a song was put together. I could have done with more of that especially about "Riders on the Storm", still for me one of the most sublime songs ever. There's little that's new in insight or film footage but it's a record which sounds permanently fresh and it's great to see the surviving Doors still so committed to their music. Ever-modest Robbie Krieger is a shy guitar delight and John Densmore's sly, jazzy drum fills are essential. Ray Manzarek shows off his effortless keyboard skills with aplomb. If you want to know how Jim Morrison was behaving, have a listen to the outtakes on the double disc 40th anniversary CD. The alternate versions are nearly all inferior though interesting building blocks, but the studio chat shows he was totally engaged with the music and raring to get on with creating this near masterpiece. Thanks guys!
