Product Description

Product Description

Fun and magic combine as usual in this new Mr Majeika story. The pupils in Class 3 at St Barty's School are not impressed when their headteacher imposes strict rules of behaviour for Halloween. Mr Majeika uses a little magic to make the evening memorable but nasty Hamish Bigmore tells the local press and gets the wizard-teacher the sack. School without magic seems rather boring and Mr Majeika doesn't last long in the other jobs he tries. His long-time enemy, Wilhelmina Warlock is clearly behindall the trouble; she and the dreaded Hamish must be defeated before life can return to normal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Majeika and the Lost Spell Book, 12 Jan 2008
By Mehajabeen Farid "Mej_da_reviewer" (Coventry) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
Who are the main characters? Who is your favourite character and why?
The main characters are Mr Majeika, the chief wizard, Hamish Bigmore, Wilhelmina Warlock and the pupils of St Barty's yr 3. My favourite character is the chief wizard because he is disguised as many different people like a shop keeper and a librarian to help Mr Majeika find `the back door'.

What is the basic plot of the book and how does it develop?
Mr Majeika helps the children with magic to make their Halloween costumes really scary. A reporter spies on them and reports to the Daily News. He loses his magic powers and has to find the back door before Hamish Bigmore and Wilhelmina Warlock.

How would you describe the atmosphere of the book?
It is really exciting and something is always round the corner.

What was the most exciting moment in the book?
When Mr Majeika gets to the oldest library in the world and finds that the oldest map in the world is gone and he is just startled is really exciting.

What were the best and worst things about this book?
It is a bit too short but to make up for it, you can't let go of the book until you finish it.

Did this book change the way you thought or felt about anything?
No. Just don't trust naughty children.

Who do you think would like this book?
8 - 10 year olds would enjoy it.
