More About the Author

Adam Hargreaves was born in 1963 in Surrey, England. He is the son of Roger Hargreaves who created the Mr. Men and Little Miss series. Adam was the inspiration for the series when, at the age of eight, he asked his father 'What does a tickle look like?' In response, Roger drew a figure with a round orange body and long, rubbery arms and Mr. Tickle was born.
When Roger died suddenly in 1988, Adam Hargreaves took over as the author and illustrator of his father's popular Mr. Men series. Although he had been to art college, Adam saw art as a hobby until then and had never drawn the Mr. Men before. He admits that it took a few years to learn to draw them as his father drew in a very different style. His titles include Mr. Birthday and Little Miss Birthday, which were published in 2006 to celebrate 35 years of the Mr. Men, and a very successful range of sparkly Mr. Men titles which feature the Mr. Men and Little Misses with favourite fairytale characters.
In October 2006, Adam Hargreaves also created the first Little Miss character based on a real person when Little Miss Stella appeared in a limited edition of 1,000 books produced as invitations for Stella McCartney's Paris fashion show. When the rights to the Mr. Men characters were sold to the entertainment group Chorion in 2004, Adam joined the company as a creative consultant. When he is not working on the Mr. Men, he pursues his other ambition, which is oil painting.

Poor Jack Robinson is in bed with the spots! He's rather bored until a blue blur shoots through the window! Mr. Cool! With a snap of his fingers, Jack is transported to the cockpit of a plane, to a soccer game in which he participates, to the tallest tree in the world and up to Mt Everest! What is the last thing Mr. Cool does for Jack? You'll have to read to find out!

If you don't like the word "cool" then stay away from this book as you will read it a lot throughout the story! Otherwise enjoy the adventure!

My son had all the original Mr Men books and now my Grandson just adores them. I was amazed to find out that there were a few new ones added to the main set and just had to get them. I love reading these colourful fun filled books to my Grandson, we read 2 or 3 at bedtime when he stays with me. He was recently extremely ill in hospital and these fab books managed to cheer him at a very painful and difficult time.

Me and my 3 year old boy love this one. It's been read over and over since getting a few weeks ago. Especially worked well when my child had chicken pox and had the same spots as the antagonist! Also, I swap the name of the football team in the story to West Ham United in order to brain wash my child. Happy reading!

The bonkers front cover reflects the witty and charming story inside; we all know a 'Mr Cool' and that's what makes these books so memorable. This is a good price but you can get them in shops for less if you're willing to take the time to look.
