Cardiff City Legend,
By Fairwater Youth (Cardiff) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mr Cardiff City: The Autobiography of Phil 'Joe' Dwyer (Paperback)
No player empitomised Cardiff City more in the 1970's to mid 80's than Phil Dwyer. I started reading it and could not put it down such is the quality of this book. It is a must for any Cardiff City fan or football fan in general. The book describes the journey from the terraces to the pulling on as Phil puts it the famous blue shirt and the pride in wearing the shirt of his home town club. It details the journey from apprenticship to countless relegation battles with the odd promotion thrown in. How he was released by Len Ashurst about to sign for Torquay then offered a second chance by the club that he loved which led to him becoming the all time appearance holder. How he left the club in 1985 after airing his views after a 4-1 home defeat to Notts County to see out the season helping Rochdale survive in the football league. The book is both honest and humerous and I guarantee once you starting reading it you wont be able to stop
