Product Description

As if by magic, the shopkeeper appeared. Learn the lessons of life from Mr Benn's adventures, as shown in the original TV series, as the Red Knight, Hunter, Cook, Caveman, Balloonist, Zoo-Keeper, Diver, Cowboy, Wizard, Clown, Magic Carpet, Spaceman and Pirate. Be taken back into the wonderful whimsical world of Mr Benn and his charming adventures - dressed in his distinctive black suit and bowler hat, Mr Benn first leaves the ordinary world of 52 Festive Road 'where nothing remarkable ever happened' when he receives an invitation to a fancy dress party. In the costume shop, he finds in the back lane, the mysterious shopkeeper guides him in his choice of fancy dress. After the quickest change ever, he walks through the other door and into extraordinary adventures where 'there are only two kinds of people. Those who are good and those who have yet to become good.' Mr Benn rights all wrongs before being guided home by a suspiciously familiar looking individual - the shopkeeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr Benn we missed you!, 12 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mr Benn's Little Book of Life (Paperback)
It takes you back! I could only remember the red knight and couldn't for the life of me name all 13 episodes (yes, there were only 13!) Just looking at the beautiful pictures by David McKee, the original illustrator and author of Mr Benn, and that jaunty theme tune starts going round and round in your head!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring back your childhood, 22 Mar 2005
This review is from: Mr Benn's Little Book of Life (Paperback)
I loved Mr Benn as a child, yet reading this book I can now see how he helped shape me to become the person I am today! He's a lovely character who doesn't need to get in trouble or cause hassle to people to be interesting and exciting. He takes pleasure in the ordinary and has extraordinary adventures with the help of the Shopkeeper, who always appeared, "as if by magic". His ordinary world also changed a little as a result of his extraordinary adventures. A fantastic book to remind you of the ideals we would all do well to live by. Beautiful pictures by the original artist. Wonderfully nostalgic.
