Format: Hardcover
This book is based on the first episode of the popular TV series and covers Mr Benn befriending a dragon who has fallen out of favour with the king. All the familar scenes are there, the Costume Shop, Festive Road, and the Changing Room. The book has alternate coloured and black and white pictures in the original style. The pictures are drawn in 3D and may be slightly difficult for younger children. All in all, however, a good way of introducing a new generation to the wonderful world of Mr Benn.

Format: Hardcover
Mr Benn - the very conventional looking bowler-hatted man who disappears into the back of a fancy dress shop and has some amazing adventures. In this story, he asks for a suit of red armour. Once he has donned it, he goes out through a different door and meets a dragon - a dragon who needs Mr Benn's help to put right a wrong. But just before the celebratory party, Mr Benn is ushered back through a door..... The intricate artwork is full of fascinating detail and the black and white illustrations make a fascinating foil for the 3D colour pictures. This is the first in the series and it's great to see these delightful stories brought back for a new generation.

Mr. Benn - Red Knight: A Review 5 Feb 2005
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Mr. Benn, a bank clerk on his way to a fancy dress party, discovers a dazzling red suit of armor in a shop window. So Mr. Benn goes into the "TRYING ROOM" in the shop, to try on the armor. He finds himself whisked away into a world involving a dragon, white horse, and castle. Of course, Mr. Benn himself is the red knight. And he soon finds himself on a quest-like endeavor.

"Mr. Benn - Red Knight", written and illustrated by David McKee, is truly an enjoyable book. It was first published in the U.S. in 1968, and is still in print today, and for good reason. The story combines an adventurous plot with a wonderful character and charming narration.

This little storybook is suitable for any person, young and old. So read Mr. Benn and make your life (at least for ten minutes) a little less ordinary.
