Excellent quality boxset with teddy & sticker sheet in a beautiful suitcase case. However I was a little disapointed to find that 5 of the animated episodes are missing from the set, so it is not quite complete.
In total there were 52 animated tales but this set only has 47 of them, the following are missing:
- Art Thief
- Haircut
- Hot Date
- Goldfish
- Scaredy Bean

All the live action TV episodes are here digitally remastered along with both the films.

4 stars only due to the missing animated tales, otherwise it would have received 5.

If you are an absolute completest then bear in mind that this set does not include the Comic Relief specials, these are however available online to view.

A charming and funny film for all the family including those that are deaf or hard of hearing and for that reason I have given it 4 stars. It won't win any oscars, but it is funny. There are times when you don't want a complicated story line to follow with ridiculous stunts or utter stupidity in place of good humour. This is a gentle, delightful comedy with universal appeal. If you want something more weighty this is probably not for you.

I should start by saying that I'm not personally a huge Mr Bean fan, but this is the one film that made my children absolutely laugh out loud - almost the whole way through! There are a couple of slightly "gross out" bits that may cause younger children to avert their gaze, but on the whole it just good clean fun.

Mr Bean works really well as short clips on TV. I felt the first film was a string of these short cips that just didn't work in between. At the beginning of this new film I thought I was in for more of the same. Some very funny moments but not much to hold it together. However have patience and see it through as the film gets better and better and finishes very cleverly in Cannes.

I always show this film to my students during the last week of summer term and it always keeps them entertained and amused. It is educational too as there is a fair amount of French spoken during the movie, with subtitles provided. There are plenty of visual gags and daring stunts but it is the French scenery, the excellent acting and the unexpected romantic interest for Mr Bean which make this a real winner.

I loved the last 15 minutes. I felt the sequence in Cannes - without any spoilers - was the best part of the film. Until that moment we'd seen nothing particularly new: ear-wiggling etc and other Bean-isms that are amusing but possibly inferior to the first Bean movie. I felt the first one hour ten was 99% Bean, and the bit I preferred was more 'balanced' by other comedic turns.

Willem Dafoe was extremely good in this last section, sending himself up as the egomaniacal Carson Clay with a girlfriend a good foot taller than him. Emma de Caunnes (Antoine's daughter) was very likeable and believable as Mr Bean's 'crush'.

Although Rowan Atkinson holds it together, I felt he could have done with a better script.

However, the extras show deleted scenes that positively made me yawn: thank God they were cut!!

If you are an adult Bean fan, you might be disappointed. I certainly was NOT. Bean is always good fun, as far as I'm concerned!! My 7 year old son LOVED this movie! He has been a Bean fan since he was 4, and thoroughly enjoyed this all the way through. (I wish I was 7 and could see it the way he does! He just wouldn't stop cracking up!) His only disappointment was...no Teddy!! He has his own Bean-style Teddy and even brought him to the theater blind-folded, hoping to surprise Teddy with a glimpse of himself on the big screen...not to be.

Rowan Atkinson still manages to prove what an immense talent he is, and how much appeal Mr. Bean generates. However, I believe this one is more enjoyable for his younger fans. Still deserves high praise though!
