Product Description

The first five episodes from the comedy series starring Rowan Atkinson as mute oddball Mr Bean, who trundles through life inadvertently causing chaos and mayhem wherever he goes. Episodes comprise: 'Mr. Bean', 'The Return of Mr. Bean', 'The Curse of Mr. Bean', 'Mr. Bean Goes to Town' and 'The Trouble with Mr. Bean'.

Synopsis

Episode One -
Mr. Bean

Whether he is in 'The Exam', for which he doesn’t know the answer to a single question, or 'On the Beach' where he is trying to change into swimming trunks without taking off his trousers, or in 'The Church' where he desperately needs to stay awake, Mr. Bean always finds an intriguing way of doing things.

Episode Two -
The Return of Mr. Bean

Mr. Bean has been given his first credit card and is determined to use it in 'The Department Store'. His visit to a smart 'Restaurant' does not go to plan when he orders the wrong meal. Waiting nervously in the line-up before a 'Royal Film' performance, Mr. Bean rehearses meticulously for his big moment.

Episode Three -
The Curse of Mr. Bean

During a visit to 'The Swimming Pool', Mr. Bean gets very excited about the prospect of a dive from the top board. On 'The Park Bench', Mr. Bean displays more futile ingenuity when he shows you how to make a sandwich. Mr. Bean is convinced that a 'Horror Movie' is his favourite form of entertainment.

Episode Four -
Mr. Bean Goes to Town

Mr. Bean has bought his first 'Television', and is having trouble with the reception. He takes another new toy, a Polaroid camera to 'The Park' before spending the evening at 'Club Phut' and then 'The Disco', where he displays his considerable dancing skills.

Episode 5 -
The Trouble with Mr. Bean

Mr. Bean oversleeps, but some ingenious driving gets him to his 'Dentist's' appointment on time. However, the dentist ends up wishing he hadn’t arrived at all. He spends the afternoon in the park and shares his 'Picnic' with an unwelcome guest.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Re-Release That Will Annoy Die Hard Fans 22 Feb 2009
By DL Productions UK VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Mr Bean is very funny, his facial expressions and actions can make you laugh time and time again; but the thing that's not funny is ripping off die hard fans. Let me explain: from 2002-2007 they released 5 volumes of Mr Bean - and they cost me around £12 a unit, fair enough, but then a year after they release them as a 3 volume set for £7 each! Now you can see why I'm annoyed!

Anyway here you get the first 5 episodes - where Mr Bean tries to do an exam, with hilarious consequences, goes to the swimming pool and realises he hates heights, he makes a sandwich in the park and does his own dentistry work. All 5 episodes are howlers that's for sure, and are suitable for any age, as it's rated U - it really has appeal across all age groups.

There are no extras on this, you just get the 5 episodes as they were broadcast - 4:3, Dolby 2.0 stereo mix and that's it. There is no subtitles or audio description, which is a pity as it would have opened the programme to a new audience.

This is good for people who like Bean but don't have the box set or the 1-5 DVDs, but as a die hard fan, I feel I have been let down quite badly by Universal, as I would have saved a packet on just buying these 3 volumes they have issued.

Avoid if you're a big fan, otherwise this is a good buy for people who want Bean in a convenient package.
